Wishing you a wonderful holiday season! Before the year winds down, we’re rolling out a handful of upgrades built to streamline staff workflows for lessons and add additional point-of-sale functionality.

Create Lessons in Fewer Clicks

Instructors can now create lessons directly from their availability column. Instead of scrolling across multiple bays or courts to find an open spot, staff can simply click the intended time within an instructor’s column and book immediately. Unavailable courts automatically drop out of view, and while this feature only applies to future lessons, staff still retain full override flexibility when needed.

Archive a Lesson Type  

We’ve also added the ability to archive outdated lesson types, helping your team prevent accidental bookings and keep offerings clean. Any lessons already booked with an archived rate will retain their pricing unless edited. Archive by navigating to "Lesson Types" in settings, choosing the lesson type, and click the three dots in the top right corner.

Gift Cards at Check-Out

We’ve made a few updates to make checkout faster and easier for staff. Gift cards now appear as their own payment option in Whoosh, separate from credit cards or cards on file. During checkout, staff can enter a Square-issued gift card and apply it to the order with just a few clicks. We also cleaned up the payment screen so payment methods stay collapsed until selected, making the flow easier to follow.

Gift Cards in the Customer Profile

Gift cards can now be viewed and managed directly from the customer profile. Just open Gift Cards under Other to see current balances or add a new card.

Multiple Forms of Payment

We also introduced the ability to take multiple payments on a single order. Staff can now split the order total between two payment methods (card, git card, cash, etc.), or between different people each paying with a different card. If your facility would like to use this feature, it’s available behind the Partial Payments feature flag, and can easily be turned on by our Support team (support@whoosh.io).

Please note that this feature does not enable the splitting of individual line items, just the entire bill.
